Jolene Marriott Hansen

Wednesday , June 13, 2018 - 10:00 PM

February 14, 1957 ~ June 6, 2018

Our dear sweet, sister, friend, mother and grandmother, Jolene Marriott Hansen, age 61, passed away, due to complications of diabetes, June 6, 2018. She was born February 14, 1957, to Gilbert and Kathleen Allen Marriott, in Ogden, Utah at the McKay-Dee Hospital.

She grew up in North Ogden and is a graduate of Weber High School. On November 18, 1977, she married Tracy Weaver Hansen in the Salt Lake Temple. They later divorced. She has five children and 16 grandchildren.

She loved her family! Cherishing the time she spent with them, enjoying trips to the cabin in Island Park, and Cancun, Mexico. She was a wonderful grandmother, doing many crafts and activities with her grandchildren. Some fond memories were surprise 59th birthday parties with her siblings, the last one taking place just last April.

Jolene's interests varied. She loved gardening. She was very adventurous and loved the mountains, being outside, enjoying nature and the sound of running water. She enjoyed riding ATV's and four wheelers taking a beautiful path from Island Park, to the border of Yellowstone.

She loved to go fishing with her favorite fishing buddy - her father. Jolene picked up physical activities very quickly and naturally, learning how to water ski in a few tries, skiing down the mountain with sheer delight and riding her bike on several bike trips.

Jolene had the ability to create - anything. We would call it crafts, yet her crafts were a work of art, doing embroidery work, quilting, sewing, her favorite being that of tole painting. Her most recent project was painting a nativity set that was just exquisite. A project she was working on was remodeling her home, with the completion of her bedroom, one day prior to her entering the hospital. Jolene was known for her laugh, something that will be greatly missed.

Jolene was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings. One of her favorite was the key - the key to the family history center. She became an avid genealogist spending hours at the center going home very late at night.

She is survived by her children: Matt Hansen (Felicity), Jeremy Hansen (Misty), Blake Hansen (Alisha), Cory Hansen, and Jessica Smith (Nick); her siblings: Lynn Duncan (Bill), JerylDean Clark, LuAnn Jenkins (Mark), and Steve Marriott (Tricia). Her parents preceded her in death.

Her funeral services will be held in the valley she loved - Driggs, Idaho. The viewing will take place Friday, June 15, 2018 at 6:30 to 8 p.m. and the funeral will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 11 a.m., with a viewing from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Driggs LDS chapel. Interment will take place at the Alta, Wyoming cementery.
